The Arvada Santa House has provided a holiday shop to local families since 2006. Originally sponsored by Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY), our Club has been the lead group in organizing this event and took over management of the project in 2022. Monetary donations from community members and organizations and donations of new toys support this effort. Selected Arvada elementary schools reach out to families in need to participate in this free holiday shop.
Many community organizations partner with us to support this worthwhile project including Apex Parks & Recreation District, Arvada Sunrise Rotary, Lake Arbor Purpose Driven Optimist, Arvada Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson County Library Foundation, Lutheran Medical Center, faith communities, local businesses, community groups, business leaders, and individuals. Free holiday gifts have been provided to over 13,500 families and 34,000 children over the years. In 2024, the program will be held at the Altitude Church at 66th Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd where gifts were distributed for more than 500 children.
Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis Foundation is thankful for the many generous friends, partners, and donors who volunteer, contribute toys, and provide monetary donations to support the Santa House.
Over the days that the Santa House is open in early December, families selected by the Family Engagement Liaison from identified local elementary schools can attend the holiday shop where they select several toys, a stuffed animal, books, a stocking stuffer, coloring book and crayons for each of their children 12 years and younger. Gift wrap, ribbons, and candy canes are also distributed.
The success of the Santa House is dependent upon the monetary donations from the Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis Foundation and business and community members. Donation boxes are also located throughout Arvada where people can drop off toy donations.

Yesterday, Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis was honored to deliver a plaque to arvada_fire Station #5 thanking them for their support and help over the past 12 years in packing supplies for the Backpack program. The Backpack program provides weekend snacks for area Jefferson County Schools. We are estimating that over the course of 12 years, over 100,000 food bags have been distributed with the help of Arvada Fire Station #5. Also a thanks to Dick Feuerborn for all you do to make this happen. From the bottom of our hearts , thank you! #community #makingadifference #arvadastrong #kiwanis #helpingkids #makingadifferencetogether #BackpackProgram #feedingkids ... See MoreSee Less
