Kiwanis Santa House

The Kiwanis Santa House has provided a holiday shop to local families since 2006. Originally sponsored by Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY), our Club has been the lead group in organizing this event and took over management of the project in 2022. Now in its 19^th year, the Santa House has served over 12,750 families and 35,290 elementary school-age children. We hope to serve more than 675 children this year.

Monetary donations from community members and organizations and donations of new toys support this effort. A big shout out to the Rocky Mountain District Kiwanis Foundation for supporting this year’s project with a $2,500 grant donation which will allow us to serve even more children this year. And Bombas Giving Partners for a donation of 3,000 pairs of socks.

Each year the Santa House offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to select gifts at no cost for their children in a store-like environment. This year, the Santa House will be serving families and children enrolled at eight Arvada elementary schools: Foster, Fremont, Hackberry Hill, Lawrence, Little, Secrest, Swanson, and Vanderhoof, as well as Campbell Early Learning Center.

Many community organizations partner with us to support this worthwhile project including Apex Parks & Recreation District, Arvada Sunrise Rotary, Lake Arbor Purpose Driven Optimist, Jefferson County Library Foundation, Arvada Police Department, Arvada Fire Protection District, faith communities, local businesses, community groups, business leaders, and individuals.  

The success of the Kiwanis Santa House is dependent upon the monetary and toy donations from community members. Donation boxes are located throughout Arvada where people can drop off toy donations through the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 25th. See the list of toy box locations below.

This year’s Kiwanis Santa House will be held at Altitude Church, 6550 Wadsworth Blvd the first week in December. Families selected by the Family Engagement Liaison from identified local elementary schools will be invited to attend the holiday shop where they select toys, a stuffed animal, books, a stocking stuffer, a coloring book, and crayons, for each of their children 12 years and younger and a family game for each family. Gift wrap, ribbons, and candy canes are also distributed.

To help us get more toys for our Santa House, try holding a toy drive at your school, business, church or synagogue, or neighborhood.
